Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • cups cooked chickpeas washed and dried
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • ½ tsp coconut sugar
  • ½ tsp pink salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp ground, roasted cumin powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • fresh cilantro chopped, optional topping
  • fresh lemon juice optional topping

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly grease a baking tray, or line one with parchment paper.
  • After washing the chickpeas, ensure they are thoroughly dried. You can use a clean kitchen towel or paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the chickpeas and toss them with avocado oil until well coated. Next, mix in the coconut sugar, pink salt, black pepper, garam masala, cumin powder, and coriander powder.
  • Evenly spread the chickpeas on the prepared baking tray, and place them in the oven.
  • Depending on your oven and the level of crispiness you prefer, roasting times can vary. It will take about 20-25 minutes. Stir the chickpeas around halfway through roasting.
  • Once done roasting, remove the chickpeas from the oven and let them cool slightly. They will continue to crisp up as they cool for 15 minutes.
  • After this time, enjoy them warm, or store in a container for later! Top with optional squeeze of lemon juice, and a garnish of chopped cilantro for serving. See storage details below.
