Sweet Broken Wheat Jaggery Porridge (Gur Ka Daliya)

Sweet Broken Wheat Jaggery Porridge is a warm, nourishing dish with cracked wheat, jaggery, and spices, also known as Gur Ka Daliya!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp refined coconut oil
  • ½ cup dry broken wheat
  • 2 cups oat milk unsweetened
  • ¼ cup jaggery grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh coconut cut into thin slices
  • 2 tbsp roasted cashews chopped
  • pinch pink salt

Instructions
 

  • Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add the broken wheat and roast on low heat for 3–4 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add milk and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the broken wheat softens (about 10 minutes)
  • Stir in the jaggery. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes until the jaggery melts and blends in.
  • Mix in coconut, cashews and a pinch of salt.
  • Let the porridge sit for a few minutes to thicken. Serve warm, garnished with extra coconut!
