Welcome to Peanut Palate, where I put up vegan recipes for everyone (whether you are vegan or not) to enjoy! Before I jump into what you’ll find on this website, first … let me introduce myself! I’m Neha, a foodie passionate about all things plant-based. I’m the recipe developer, photographer and blogger behind PeanutPalate, making vegan recipes with nutritious ingredients, many of which are gluten-free and refined sugar-free as well.

How it All Began

I started this blog all the way back in 2014 as a way to share vegan recipes, as I documented my own journey to becoming vegan and trying out new foods. In 2012, I became vegetarian, after learning about where meat came from (up until then, I hadn’t made the connection between the packaged products in the meat aisle and the farms these animals were coming from).

Then in 2014, I started to focus on veganism after learning about the environmental, ethical and health impact of not only the meat industry, but also dairy, eggs, and animal products in general (such as wearing leather jackets or fur, using animal-based skincare and more).

Of course, I wanted to minimize the ecological harm we do on the planet and live a more sustainable lifestyle – if it’s a choice I could make, why not? After opening my eyes to the cruelty inflicted on animals each and every day due to the daily choices I was making as a consumer, vegan had to be the way to go.

Not to mention all the environmental and health concerns that cropped up on my research of why a vegan diet was the most ethical way of living for me. So here’s to the better health of our planet, ourselves and the animals – I hope to make this a place where you can find easy and flavourful vegan food that you’ll come back to over and over again. Let’s eat!

What You Will Find Here

I focus on plant-based whole food ingredients for most of my recipes, with the occasional vegan processed substitutes for flavour (I like to call them “gourmet vegan items” such as vegan cream cheese, ice cream, etc). Here you can find all recipes with written steps, my most used ingredients and blogger/photography resources (this will be linked when i’s ready!), links to both podcasts I host (related to veganism and careers/entreprenurial stuff!), my social channels (hello Instagram) and lifestyle posts (like sustainable fashion). You can ask a question under Contact (or let’s work together!) If you have a question, I may have already answered it, so you can check out the FAQ as well.

Life Outside of Blogging

Aside from recipe testing, photography, podcasting and all things content-creation-related, you can find me teaching (private STEM tutoring), working my day job as an engineer, getting in some exercise or chilling at a cafe with a cup of coffee. I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, which is where I currently live!
