Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Wellness Shot Recipe
Today we are making a Lemon, Ginger & Turmeric Wellness Shot Recipe! Wellness shots have taken the health and wellness world by storm, and for good reason. These potent little drinks are packed with concentrated nutrients and are designed to give your body a quick and powerful boost of immunity, energy, and anti-inflammatory benefits. With a blend of fresh ginger, turmeric, citrus, and pineapple, this wellness shot is a simple and effective way to fuel your body with nature’s best ingredients. Instead of spending a fortune on store-bought shots, you can easily make them at home with fresh, whole foods.
It’s no secret that wellness shots sold in trendy cafes and juice bars often come with a hefty price tag—sometimes upwards of $5 for a single shot! While they promise a quick boost of health, the high cost can make it difficult to incorporate into your daily routine. Thankfully, making your own wellness shots at home is not only much more affordable, but it also allows you to control the quality of the ingredients, ensuring that every shot is as fresh and nutritious as possible.
This recipe brings together powerful superfoods like ginger and turmeric, known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, along with vitamin C-rich citrus and sweet pineapple for a tropical twist. By blending and straining the ingredients, you’ll have a fresh, zesty shot that’s perfect for boosting your immune system, improving digestion, and adding a natural energy lift. Whether you’re looking to start your day off right or simply incorporate more wellness into your routine, these shots are an easy and cost-effective solution.
Why You’ll Love These Lemon Ginger Wellness Shots
Fresh, Customized Goodness: Unlike store-bought wellness shots, you have complete control over the freshness and flavor of your homemade version. You can adjust the level of ginger’s heat or add extra pineapple for more sweetness, making each shot perfectly tailored to your taste. Plus, you’re skipping preservatives or additives, so you’re getting a pure, wholesome blend every time.
Budget-Friendly Immunity Boost: Wellness shots are notorious for being expensive when purchased at juice bars, but making them at home is a fraction of the cost. You’ll love how affordable it is to keep up with your daily health routine, without compromising on quality or effectiveness. Plus, you can make a small batch in just minutes, saving both time and money!
Substitutions
Lemon: Use limes for a sharper, zesty kick.
Orange: Use grapefruits for a slightly more tangy flavor. Mandarin oranges or another type of orange can be used instead.
Turmeric: Ground turmeric can be used if fresh is unavailable. Use ½ teaspoon of ground for every 1 inch of fresh root.
Pineapple: Use mango for a tropical, sweet flavor.
Lemon Ginger Wellness Shot Recipe Notes
- Fresh turmeric can stain surfaces. Use gloves or wash your hands immediately after handling, and clean cutting boards and your blender promptly after using.
- Adding a pinch of black pepper enhances the bioavailability of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, boosting its anti-inflammatory benefits. It’s not necessarily added for taste, but for increasing the absorption of the turmeric.
- If you prefer a sweeter shot, add a bit more pineapple, mango or a teaspoon of agave syrup.
