Substitutions
Bread: Choose a sturdy loaf like a baguette, ciabatta, or sourdough. These hold up well under the spread and deliver a nice crunch. Avoid soft sandwich bread, as it tends to get too mushy.
Vegan Butter: Melt Organics makes a great brand of salted vegan butter sticks, which are my go-to for anything using vegan butter. Use your favorite brand of butter, or even margarine or some vegan butter-like spread.
Vegan Garlic Bread Recipe Notes
- For cheesy garlic bread, add some vegan Parmesan or nutritional yeast on top with the garlic butter.

The Best Easy Vegan Garlic Bread Recipe (10 Minute)
Equipment
- Small skillet
- Pastry Brush
- Stovetop Pan
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp salted vegan butter
- 4 medium garlic cloves minced
- 8 pieces sourdough baguette or ciabatta bread cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
- extra vegan butter for the bread
- black pepper to taste
- pink salt to taste
- fresh cilantro or parsley chopped, optional
Instructions
- In a small skillet over medium-low heat, add in the vegan butter. Let it start to sizzle, then add in the garlic.
- Stir the garlic around for a few minutes, until lightly browned and aromatic.
- Turn off the heat and set aside.
- Lightly grease a stovetop pan on medium-high heat, with extra vegan butter. Be generous with the butter!
- Add the bread pieces evenly, side by side. Let it toast until lightly browned on one side, then flip. Depending on the size of your pan, you may have to repeat this a few times (add vegan butter to each new set of bread pieces, and when you flip them over as well).
- Remove the bread from the heat once toasted. Brush the garlic butter mixture over top using a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with optional cilantro or parsley, for flavor.
- Serve with vegan marinara sauce or a warm bowl of soup for a cozy combo. Garlic bread also pairs beautifully with pasta dishes or a fresh, green salad. Enjoy!

Storage
- Let the garlic bread cool completely to avoid trapping steam, which can make it soggy. Wrap the bread tightly in aluminum foil, then place it in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer or oven for a few minutes at 350 degrees F.
