Why You’ll Love This Vegan Brownie Cheesecake Dip
Dessert in a Dip: This Vegan Brownie Cheesecake Dip transforms the essence of two classic desserts into a creamy, indulgent dip. It’s like enjoying a slice of rich brownie cheesecake in a whole new, convenient form, perfect for pairing with everything from fresh strawberries to crunchy pretzels. It’s a fun, innovative way to satisfy your sweet tooth without the need for baking.
Delicious Potluck Recipe: This dip comes together in just minutes, making it perfect for last-minute gatherings or when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen. With simple ingredients and no need for baking, you can whip up a delicious, crowd-pleasing treat with minimal effort.
Substitutions
Cream Cheese: I use Violife vegan cream cheese for this recipe, which is gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free. Substitute with your preferred brand of vegan cream cheese.
Powdered Xylitol: This is similar to powdered sugar, but made from xylitol instead of white sugar. Swap in for regular powdered sugar.
Chocolate Chips: Check the ingredient label to ensure there are no milk products in the chocolate. Semisweet chocolate works best here, but for a less sweet version you can also choose dark chocolate. Choose mini chocolate chips, so they don’t overpower the dip if the chocolate pieces are too big. Alternatively, chop up a chocolate bar into tiny pieces to use.
Brown Sugar: Do not substitute brown sugar. White sugar and brown sugar are not 100% vegan, due to using bone char during the processing steps. However, there are brands that are labeled as vegan that you can find in the natural foods baking aisles at the grocery store, or online. Wholesome is one popular brand for this.
Oat Milk: Swap in for your preferred non-dairy vegan milk of choice. Oat milk has a slight sweet, nutty flavor on its own, so it works great here. The recipe uses unsweetened milk, but you can choose a sweetened brand of milk as well.
Vegan Butter: I use Melt Organics brand of salted vegan butter sticks here. If your butter is not salted, add a larger pinch of salt into the recipe after taste-testing at the end. I haven’t tried this with a vegan margarine spread, but it may work as well instead of butter sticks. Do not use oil as a substitute.
Cocoa Powder: Substitute cacao powder, which is the unprocessed version of cocoa powder due to the heating process used to make it. This is not the same as chocolate powder (eg. like the one used to make chocolate milk) which contains added sugar and other ingredients. This is raw cacao powder, which is used in chocolate baked goods (like the one that goes into homemade brownies)!
